Maine Men’s Center

Located on 488 beautiful acres at 11 Hudson Lane in Winthrop, Maine, Adult & Teen Challenge Maine Men’s Center serves as a refuge from the devastation of a life run by addiction. A leader in long-term recovery success, Adult & Teen Challenge Maine Men’s Center utilizes a unique combination of vocational training coupled with Biblical life studies to replace the identity of an addict with that of an identity in Christ Jesus.

Adult & Teen Challenge Maine Men’s Center challenges individuals to dig deep and seek the true purpose and focus of their lives. During their program, residents learn to rely on Jesus as well as trust in the process of learning discipline, obedience, and surrender. This is not possible without the structure and discipline of a program which cultivates a new and changed life in anyone who truly seeks the irreplaceable redemption and grace of Jesus Christ. This type of transformation does not occur rapidly.

A long term (10–12 month) residential facility, Adult & Teen Challenge Maine has the capacity and ability to save 20 men at any given time from the lives of addiction they choose to leave behind. Adult & Teen Challenge Maine has not denied anyone entrance into the program regardless of financial means for the entirety of its existence. Anyone and everyone who truly seeks recovery is given an opportunity to change their lives and begin to serve their families, friends, and communities as responsible, spiritually mature, and dedicated members of society.

Keith O’Brien

Director, Adult & Teen Challenge Maine

Keith is from the Boston area and grew up in Wareham Massachusetts. For 14 years, he was addicted to alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs. At his lowest point, he was homeless, sleeping in a cemetery at night. Then, on July 21st, 2005, he walked through the doors of Adult & Teen Challenge and everything changed!

Upon graduating the program, Keith felt the call of God to stay and help other men change their lives. He spent 7 years at the Brockton center bringing life changing hope to the lost. Keith received his Assembly of God Ministers License from Global University and has enrolled at Liberty University to pursue a degree in Psychology in Addiction and Recovery. In 2012 Keith became the Director of the Maine men’s center.

Keith has served with Adult & Teen Challenge for 17 years now and in Maine for over 10 years. Keith and his wife Kait live in Fairfield Maine with their children, Kyle and Karleigh, where they are fully committed to the purpose of reaching Maine’s lost and addicted men for Christ.
