Maine Men’s Center

11 Hudson Ln • Winthrop, ME • 207-377-2801

Located on 488 beautiful acres at 11 Hudson Lane in Winthrop, Maine, Adult & Teen Challenge Maine Men’s Center serves as a refuge from the devastation of a life run by addiction. A leader in long-term recovery success, Adult & Teen Challenge Maine Men’s Center utilizes a unique combination of vocational training coupled with Biblical life studies to replace the identity of an addict with that of an identity in Christ Jesus.

Adult & Teen Challenge Maine Men’s Center challenges individuals to dig deep and seek the true purpose and focus of their lives. During their program, residents learn to rely on Jesus as well as trust in the process of learning discipline, obedience, and surrender. This is not possible without the structure and discipline of a program which cultivates a new and changed life in anyone who truly seeks the irreplaceable redemption and grace of Jesus Christ. This type of transformation does not occur rapidly.

A long term (10–12 month) residential facility, Adult & Teen Challenge Maine has the capacity and ability to save 20 men at any given time from the lives of addiction they choose to leave behind. Adult & Teen Challenge Maine has not denied anyone entrance into the program regardless of financial means for the entirety of its existence. Anyone and everyone who truly seeks recovery is given an opportunity to change their lives and begin to serve their families, friends, and communities as responsible, spiritually mature, and dedicated members of society.

Héctor Andujar, Jr.

Senior Director, Adult & Teen Challenge New Hampshire

Héctor graduated the Adult & Teen Challenge program on June 26, 2015. Having an extensive background in sales and marketing, he has served as the Development Supervisor since 2015, responsible for coordinating and overseeing various aspects of fundraising and community outreaches, such as the Ride for Freedom, Golf Tournament, Fall Banquet, Gift Wrapping, Church Services and End Addiction Teams. Over the years Héctor has grown these fundraisers significantly, bringing more awareness to the program and putting operating systems and procedures in place to bring more efficiency and effectiveness to the program. In 2018 he was promoted to Assistant Director and in 2023 to Director.

Héctor enrolled in Global University in 2018 and has his Ministry License with the Assemblies of God Fellowship, with a goal of becoming an Ordained Minister by 2024. As he continues his spiritual journey, he has done more preaching and public speaking, and speaks on behalf of Adult & Teen Challenge throughout the region.

Héctor and his wife Carmen, who is the Administrative Assistant at the New Hampshire center, facilitate Family Ministry each month, providing a time and atmosphere that is conducive to healing and restoration for residents and their families. They also meet with other couples to offer guidance and encouragement in the journey they have also traveled.

As Director, Héctor oversees the staff and challenges them daily to grow and improve, and make Adult & Teen Challenge an increasingly better program so that many will have the opportunity that he did to be saved, transformed, and live a purpose driven life for God.
