Culinary Arts Vocational Training
Our Adult & Teen Challenge Massachusetts – Brockton, Massachusetts – Worcester, and New Jersey programs offer Culinary Arts Vocational Training for both residents and apprentices. The following is taught by a professional chef in our fully equipped commercial kitchens located on our properties:
- Food preparation and service of meats, fish, poultry, soups, potato and vegetable dishes, desserts, cakes, and pastries.
- Technique – the chef and mentors accompany each trainee with hands on instruction
- Presentation
- Sanitation
- Nutrition
- Safety
- Organizational skills
- Professionalism
- Catering events – in this area fundamental skills are gained to solve daily problems and situations found in the food service environment.
Upon completion of culinary training, residents and apprentices have competent cooking and table service skills.
