Wayne Gallagher
Director, Adult & Teen Challenge Connecticut

Wayne entered the doors of Adult & Teen Challenge Massachusetts in 2000. Prior to coming into the ministry, Wayne had a genuine encounter with the Spirit of God. It was at that moment that being an alcoholic was no longer an option for him. He knew that God had a better purpose for him. He found that purpose at Adult & Teen Challenge. After graduating the program in 2002 he served as an intern and eventually as a staff member. He attended Global University and is a credentialed minister with the Southern New England Assemblies of God.
In 2006 God opened the door for Wayne and his wife Yvette where they served in the local church for 15 years. In 2020 they felt the Lord leading them back to Adult & Teen Challenge. In 2021 they both accepted positions at Adult & Teen Challenge Connecticut. Wayne serves as Director.

Steve Stokes
Associate Director, Adult & Teen Challenge Connecticut

After struggling with drugs and alcohol for many years in Massachusetts, Steve was having severe battles with mental illness and serious legal issues. He tried everything possible to become free from his bondage, but the countless programs and medication couldn’t change the direction of his life. After a dozen overdoses and ready to give up on life, a childhood friend told him God could deliver him and change his life at a place called Adult & Teen Challenge.
On June 30, 2011, as Steve walked out of the drug house for the last time, he was confronted by those with whom he had been using drugs who asked where he was going. He responded, “I’m going to find God.” That day he entered Adult & Teen Challenge and was confronted with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. On August 5, 2011 at a chapel service in New Haven, Connecticut, he cried out to God with a broken and contrite heart, asking Him to save and deliver him. God showed up that day and Steve had an encounter with Jesus Christ that would change him forever!
Steve graduated the program in 2012 and took advantage of an apprenticeship opportunity there. He then joined the staff in 2014, serving as the Program Supervisor, Resident Life Supervisor, and currently the Associate Director. He could never have imagined these wonderful things that God could do with a lost and broken man and his one act of obedience. Steve gives God all the praise and glory for his new life.
