Massachusetts TC Clinical Group is seeking a candidate for part time clinician.  Fridays and/or Saturdays 12pm to 8pm. If you match the skill set below we would love to hear from you.

  1. Empathy and Compassion: Recovery clinicians ability  to understand and empathize with the challenges and struggles clients face during their journey to sobriety. 
  2. Active Listening: Attentive listening  to clients without judgment. 
  3. Counseling Techniques: Familiarity with various therapeutic approaches like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
  4. Assessment and Diagnosis: Conducting thorough assessments and accurately diagnosing substance use disorders and any co-occurring mental health issues to develop suitable treatment plans.
  5. Treatment Planning: Developing personalized treatment plans based on the individual needs and strengths of clients.
  6. Crisis Management: Ability to handle crises and emergencies calmly and effectively. Ensuring clients’ safety and providing the necessary support during challenging situations.
  7. Group Facilitation: Ability to run  group therapy sessions to encourage open communication, maintain a safe environment, and foster a sense of community among clients.
  8. Relapse Prevention: Ability to equip clients with coping strategies and relapse prevention techniques to support long-term recovery and reduce the risk of relapse.
  9. Motivational Skills:  Ability to inspire and motivate clients to stay committed to their recovery goals, especially during times of difficulty or self-doubt.
  10. Cultural Competence: Cultural awareness and sensitivity to effectively work with clients from diverse backgrounds and ensure that treatment plans align with their cultural values and beliefs.
  11. Documentation and Organization: Ability to maintain accurate and organized client records, progress notes, and treatment plans for tracking clients’ progress and adhering to ethical and legal standards.
  12. Collaboration and Referral: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and community resources to provide comprehensive care and access additional support services when needed.
  13. Boundary Setting: Establish and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.

Education and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field or Master’s degree in Counseling or a similar discipline.
  • Completion of specialized coursework or training in addiction counseling or substance abuse treatment is highly desirable.
  • Licensure or certification as an addiction counselor, such as Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic techniques and counseling theories, particularly those applicable to addiction treatment.
  • Excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to build a trusting therapeutic relationship with clients.
  • Previous experience working with individuals struggling with addiction, mental health issues, or related fields is an advantage.
