Website Bloom: A Place for Girls

To provide general oversight of students in program to ensure their safety and well-being as well as
program compliance with regulatory standards in 606 CMR 3.00.

RESPONSIBILITIES
General:

  • Maintain complete confidentiality and integrity in communication in accordance with Teen
  • Challenge confidentiality policy and state regulations
  • Attends weekly, monthly and daily meetings with Director and other staff members as
  • necessary to assure quality of program and facility is maintained and responsible for
  • attending training as required by state regulations.
  • Cooperate with parents, agencies, caseworkers, probation officers, police officers and field
  • workers involved with Bloom
  • Acts as a host to visitors and family members
  • Other duties as assigned by the Center Director
  • Student Supervision:
  • Provides care, concern, shelter and a homelike atmosphere for students including
  • providing ministry and prayer as needed, strictly following Bloom policy in regard to
  • ministry
  • Enforce all house / program rules with students
  • Oversee student activities to ensure general safety of all students and staff
  • Administers medication to students closely adhering to Bloom policy and 606 CMR 3.00
  • standards
  • Monitors student phone calls with family and takes notes as necessary on communication
  • Oversees laundry process for students
  • Responsible for performing “on-call” duties as assigned
  • Communicate with Center Director and / or Center Program Supervisor any problem area
  • with a student
  • Seeks to implement service plans as directed by Resident Advisor and/or Director
  • Responsible for helping new student acclimate following intake (handbook review and
  • putting away belongings) as well as assisting in student dismissals and completions
  • Facilitates searches of students both leaving for visits and returning from visits
  • Food Management:
  • Prepares and/or oversees meals according to planned menu and nutritional standards
  • Assists in food pickups and processing from local grocery stores / donors, etc as assigned
  • Food management – proper packaging, labeling and storage of food, proper rotation and
  • disposal of food
  • Home Management:
  • Maintain cleanliness of residential areas of home, yard and vehicles and oversees daily
  • student chores
  • Ensures security of facility nights and holidays

Administrative:

  • Completes all medication, outing and maintenance log information as required in a timely
  • and complete manner
  • Accounts for money spent on their shift through proper keeping of receipts for all
  • purchases
  • Responsible for writing shift house notes, and completes staff checklist at the end of each
  • shift
  • Notifies and seeks permission for al recreational activities 24 hours in advance
  • Assists in maintaining the student file system at Bloom
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with state regulations by conducting and
  • documenting monthly fire drills
  •  Responsible for documenting any student grievances and submitting those to Center
  • Supervisor
  • Report ANY allegations of abuse immediately to DCF per Child Abuse Reporting Statute
  • M.G.L. c. 119 Section 51
  • Complete Incident Reports as necessary and forward to Center Director
  • These duties are not exclusive and with consideration of the job requirements and
  • employee skills, this job description can be added to or taken away from at the
  • discretion of the employee’s immediate supervisor or ATCNE management.


JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Position qualifications:

  • HS education minimum
  • Personable, good people skills.
  • Regular timely attendance.
  • Organized.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (completed within first 7 days of employment)
  • Valid Driver’s License (minimum of 4 years) and insurable driving record
  • Commitment to continued education and training as required by licensing agency. (20 hours)
  • Minimum of 6 months child care experience.
  • Must be able to attain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Must not have any record of felonies or any charges that would prevent passing of a CORI criminal history
  • background check
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and flexible within all areas of responsibility.
  • Ability to foster a safe environment where people will feel comfortable sharing private pertinent information
  • to receive effective services.
  • Strict adherence to the HIPAA and Teen Challenge New England policies regarding confidentiality
  • is required.
  • Maintain and comply with all governmental and organizational standards and expectations.
  • Optimize internal and external relationships in ways that exemplify high Christian standards.
  • Be aware of and contribute towards friend-raising and relationship building internally and externally.
  • Adhere to the Mission and Values statements.
  • Sign acknowledgement of TCNE Statement of Faith.
  • Knowledge of the Bible and ability to correctly and able apply its principles and teachings in
  • communication with all internal persons, staff, students, families and volunteers.
  • Christ-centered behavior, i.e. treating people with dignity, respect, compassion and integrity at all times.
  • All TCNE personnel are required to exemplify Christian conduct and godly character at all times both on and
  • off duty. Responsibilities to be examples of a growing spiritual maturity is essential for properly demonstrating
  • living an authentic faith before students and those to whom we minister, as well as in our personal internal
  • relationships with other TCNE personnel and supervisors.

Must be 18+ years old, be able to drive on ATCNE insurance, Be able to pass CORI, SORI and Federal fingerprinting background check (no charges involving minors in any capacity)
